This my friends is called, Banana Date Nut Shake {Praise the Heavens}. Thank you Emily at ThisRawsomeVeganLife.com for sharing such an AMAZING recipe.
I will never need an unhealthy, fat & sugar filled, whipped cream topped, expensive, who knows what else is in it milkshake. This was absolutely devine! There was more flavor packed in this milkshake than I have ever tasted before. It was almost "too sweet".
Not meant to be a daily indulgence but we all have days that we want a little something more or want to celebrate. Delicious AND guilt free....yes please!
Recipe
2 frozen bananas
1/2 cup (approx. 6) dates
1 tablespoon hemp seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon nut butter (optional)
Water or nut milk, as needed (1.5 cups)
Blend it all up. Feel free to add some cacao powder or whatever else you love. I like when there are chunks of dates in the shake because they are bite-sized happiness. Top off with cinnamon and nom it down. Or nom it up? I dunno. Just get it in you.
Notes - I didn't use the hemp seeds because I didn't have them on hand & I WANTED this tonight. I used freshly pressed almond nut butter & almond milk from The Fresh Market. Some of the national brands contain carrageenan. This "natural" food additive is controversial & might be the cause of some health issues.
Here is my photo of this delicious shake. I wanted a pretty glass but what I made could have filled this glass nearly three times. Which honestly, was way too much for me. I did drink a little more than I needed because it was so darn good! I think I am going to get my booty back on the treadmill. Ha!
Enjoy......
Enjoy......
