Are you part of the 71%?

They say that if you do something for 21 days, it becomes a habit. So I thought that I would check in on you & see how you are doing. Did you set a New Year resolution for 2014? Is your resolution listed on the photo below?

Have you been working on it, committed to it, for the last 21 days? If so, GOOD FOR YOU! Did you know that about 71% of people have given up just 14 days in & then it drops to 64% at the end of the month. So if you are going strong, keep going! You are on your way.

I would love for you to comment below & tell us which resolution you are working on & WHY it is so important to you. I have often found that if your WHY isn't strong enough, you will never achieve the results that you were looking for. So shout it out, tell us & recommit yourself.

I am here to help YOU, yes YOU, anyway that I can. If you need someone to cheer you on, hold your hand, give you tips, listen to you vent, provide recipes.....I am your girl. Grab a decaf, green tea, pull up a chair & CLICK HERE to shoot me an email. I'll be waiting.

Pinterest did WHAT?!

Many of us rang in the New Year committed to eating deliciously healthier in 2014. Today Pinterest made that just a little easier for us! When you search for a recipe or ingredients on Pinterest, you'll be able to filter for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free & paleo meal options that fit your lifestyle. Seriously, how cool is that?

You can search for pantry staples or specific ingredients, like avocados, garbanzo beans & spinach to discover amazing new dishes. Each pin with give information such as ingredients, cook time & servings.

Here is how it works:

1. Enter a specific dish or ingredients into the search bar, like "brownies with black beans".

2. On the search results page, click All Recipes to switch to the recipes-only search. You can also click on any of the diet filters to narrow in on exactly what you want to make.

3. Save favorite recipes on your own boards.

4. If you don't already follow me on Pinterest, click here, or on the photo below.

If you found this information helpful & you think that your friends would benefit from this exciting new addition, please click the button below to share this post on your Facebook page

Enjoy & happy pinning!!!

Guilt Free Ice Dream

I have been sitting at my computer all day listening to podcasts & working on my business. The thought of ice cream keeps entering my mind but I have zero desire to get dressed, drive to the store, purchase ice cream full of awful ingredients & then feel guilty & probably even unsatisfied later.

It is easy to think of processed foods because we have been eating them for so long. The natural reaction is that I need to go to the store because I have no ice cream at home. I have yet to make "healthy" ice cream so my mind doesn't go there yet when I am considering what I want & what will genuinely satisfy my craving.

Eating deliciously healthy isn't a "diet" or "quick fix" for me. It is a lifestyle change. That means, having an open mind, knowing that each day is progress, allowing yourself a few mistakes because overall you are doing significantly better than you were before, some sort of inventive nature or you just have to be really good at finding new recipes. Or, better yet......you could just stick with me & I will help you every step of the way. http://eepurl.com/LOo6j

Back to the ice cream or should I say, "Guilt FREE Ice DREAM"? I was craving Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia. Have you looked at their labels? No thanks!

Not to mention that I NEVER eat just half of a cup. Seriously! So I remembered that I still had some frozen bananas in my freezer, which is the base for all healthy ice cream. I always have bananas on hand so when they start getting sketchy & I know that I won't eat them....in the freezer they go. I try to keep about 6-10 bananas in the freezer at all times.

The other main components for my ice cream would need to be chocolate & cherries. Score! I had both. This process is super simple, totally amaze balls & a MUST try. If these specific ingredients aren't your thing, leave a comment below & let me know what your favorite ice cream is. I will come up with something else for you to try!

This was enough for 2-3 people (or one really excited person)

2 frozen bananas
1 cup of fresh or frozen dark cherries
2T of coconut water or filtered water (just to assist in the blending process)
Cacao nibs (optional)

Directions:

Put everything in the blender or food processor (minus the cacao nibs) & blend until the desire consistency. Mix in the cacao nibs or other healthy ingredients.

* Next time I might make my own chocolate chunks using raw cacao powder & coconut oil. Next time as in...tomorrow. Or later tonight. But it is okay because this recipe is deliciously healthy & totally guilt free!!

Remember, comment below & let me know what YOUR favorite ice cream is. Enjoy!
